Our history
Our company was established in 1979 by Dr Heinz Merschmeier as a limited liability company (GmbH).
As one of the oldest auditing firms in Münster, we enjoy a close connection to the city, its traditions and its people.
The origins of our firm date back to the 1920s, when Dr jur. Dipl.-Kfm. Paul Schmidt – a publicly appointed auditor for the Münster Chamber of Commerce and Industry – set up his own practice.

New management
New management of the firm under the helm of the managing directors, partners, auditors and tax consultants Dipl.-Betriebswirt Michael Jäger, Dipl.-Betriebswirt Wolfgang Scheiper and Dipl.-Kaufmann Herbert Kissenkötter.
Change of leadership
Dipl.-Kfm. Wolfgang Asemann, auditor and tax consultant, and Heinz Drees, auditor and tax consultant, were responsible for the management and auditing activities of Dr. Merschmeier + Partner GmbH.
Change of legal form
Firm takes on new legal form as a limited liability company under the company name Dr. Merschmeier + Partner GmbH, Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft.
Sole practitioner and naming
Dipl-Kfm. Edmund Fischer retires from the firm. After the departure of Dr Schmidt and Fischer, the firm continued in the form of a sole practitioner firm under the company name Dr. Heinz Merschmeier, Wirtschaftsprüfer, until 1979.
Departure of the founder
Dr. jur. Dipl.-Kfm. Paul Schmidt retires from the partnership.
New addition to the partnership
Dr. rer. pol. Heinz Merschmeier joins the partnership after passing his public auditor examinations. Until 1970, the partnership operated under the name Dr. Schmidt – Fischer – Dr. Merschmeier, Wirtschaftsprüfer.

Formation of a partnership following the accession of Dipl. Volkswirt Edmund Fischer.
